The PCP application rod we offer are widely used and recognized in Chinese oilfields. Our PCP application rod has replaced conventional sucker rod and hollow sucker rod as they are more suitable for rotary application in progressive cavity pumping.
Most of the progressive cavity pumping is still using conventional sucker rod and ultra-high strength sucker rod. These rods are manufactured under API 11B Specifications but defined to work under axial loads for progressive cavity pump. The use of these rods for progressive cavity pumping increases rod premature failure with higher operating cost.
Our special designed “Taper Thread” PCP rod have higher transmission of torsion and axial load; hence improve the rod fatigue strength that overcomes the weaknesses of using conventional sucker rods. Such designed PCP rod helps to improve the reliability of progressive cavity pumping.
Mostly, we provide PCP rod and other accessories as one package to our customers, including PCP polished rod, PCP pony rod, PCP rod itself, PCP coupling, PCP sub-coupling and PCP pony rod with centralizer (Rod Guide). The package is tested, accepted and widely used in Chinese oilfields.
Our PCP rods are available in 7/8 inch (22mm), 1 inch (25mm) and 1-1/8 inch (28mm) body diameter. For the lengths available are 25 feet (7.62m) and 30 feet (9.14m). The PCP rod is using AISI 4130 special alloy steel to manufacture. It is only used for non-corrosive and inhibited oil wells.
Characteristics:
1. The PCP rod thread is designed with large screw pitch (6 threads per inch) and higher thread rigidity, such design allow the PCP rod receiving higher make up torque and pre-tightening force;
2. The PCP rod surface has a thin compression layer at the rod surface that remains under compression even under normal operating tensile loads;
3. For quality assurance, the PCP rod is using fluorescent magnetic particle and magnetic leakage inspection to check for defect of the rod end and the rod body respectively.
